The beauty of being associated with Ashton Valley Fresh is the availability of amazing fruit to be used in our beers. The site at Lot 100 has its own strawberry field and the second strawberries not sold at market found their way into this beer. We’ve always loved sours for their low ABV, sharp tartness and refreshing characters. Although this isn’t a traditional berliner weisse style aged in wooden barrels, it’s still brewed in a method that was used historically, called a kettle sour.
Visually, expect a light hay colour with a slight shade of pink. Aroma is a mix of subtle fresh field strawberry’s, wheat and light funk. Overall this beer is light, refreshing and moorish.
